The History of WA Music

(3 customer reviews)

The one-hour program is playing the music history of WA.

I have collected local music since the eighties and have a great variety of songs to play.

Sixties, Seventies, Eighties right up to new releases of today.

Early recordings of Tony Tyler, Glen Ingram, The Troubadours of the Sixties.

Fatty Lumpkin, Breakaway, The Invaders, Loaded Dice from the Seventies.

V Capri, Perfect Strangers, The Stems, Flying Fonzarellis, Innocent Bystanders, The Frames from The Eighties.

Alan Simpson has played drums in Perth since 1977 and was a member of Skydiver, Harlequin Tears, V Capri and The Magnificent Seven.

Alan has performed on Countdown and the Tamworth Music Awards.

Alan has been actively involved in the Western Australian industry for fifty years.

This one-hour program will play songs back to back that no other radio station can.

  1. Paul Reynolds

Shows the amazing depth of WA rock and roll and other music – absolutely international quality. Love it!

  2. Sherri-Ruth McGregor-Shaw

Love the eclectic choice of songs, Alan shares each week, all with a fun fact or story! Great variety of music and interesting commentary ❤️ Bring on more Alan Simpson…. We will be listening.

  3. Mr Mockatoo

If Paul Reynolds – a man of rare taste and refinement – recommends this show then I will set aside my distaste for the unmentionable Alan Simpson (did I just mention him?) to listen. Naaah, Simmo is doing great work on behalf of WA writers and musicians and is like a dog with a bone…well, he’s like a dog, anyway. A great big scruffy mongrel. Grrrr….
